Now that winter is here and the cold weather is upon us don’t leave it to late to get your car checked.

Here at alpha auto services, we are doing a winter car safety checklist service to keep you and your family safe this winter.

This will include checking and if necessary, topping up your coolant level with a mixture of the correct type of antifreeze.

Batteries are the most common cause of winter breakdowns. A battery more than five years old may struggle in the cold – we will check and replace if necessary to avoid the inconvenience of an unplanned failure.

All lights will be checked and replaced if needed.

Your Tyres should have at least 3mm of tread for winter motoring. They will be checked for wear and the pressure checked too or you might want to consider changing to winter tyres for better safety

It also might be a good time to change your worn wiper blades, yours will be checked and if needed replaced.

Screen wash levels and mixture will be checked and filled if needed. It is good to run a 50% mix of a good quality screen wash to reduce the chance of freezing in this cold and frosty weather

We will also check your horn, steering and engine oil, plus your brakes (discs and pads). And we will even check the condition of your fan and your exhaust.
